LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS OF 1950-FULL FORWARDS

Argus 27-May-1950 p7 The Argus Week-End Magazine

ALBERT ("BUTCH") PRIOR has been al- most the regular full forward for Hawthorn since 1934, when his work in the thirds brought him under the notice of the selectors. Tall and angular-he is 6ft. 1in. and 131/2 stone -"Butch" is a good mark and, on his day, a fine kick. He had his best sea- son in 1947, when he kicked 67 goals. He was almost the sensation in that year, as he began with 6, 8, 3, and 8 goals in succession. That high standard was not fully maintained, but he was most valuable in a side that has usually been weak in attackers.

"Butch" is a fine club man, with a good-humoured outlook on the game-and on life.
