LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS OF 1950 -HALF-BACK FLANKERS By PERCY TAYLOR

Argus 24-Jun-1950 p14 The Argus Week-End Magazine

ANGUS ABBEY, although not having the best of luck recently, is considered the logical half- back flanker on the other side to Donald. Due to war service, he started his football late. He began with the Waratahs, one of the good junior clubs in the Footscray district, then transferred to the seconds, and so to the senior side. He is a good mark, but his superb dash is the real feature of his play, being of the Basil McCormick type, which sees no obstacles. Angus is single, and lives in Footscray.
