Brunswick (VFA) Home Ground 1908-
Introduction
Known as the Alec Gillon Oval since 1976. Named after Alex Gillon, Brunswick Premiership player and long serving President of the VFA.The Northcote club are expected to make a good fight against our boys, and as it is the first football match to be played on the new park, a large crowd is anticipated. The council for some time past has been working hard in making improvements at the park, and the playing arena is looking well. The Bruniswick City Band has generously placed its services at the club's disposal, and will march from the corner of Victoria street and Sydney. road, and will render selections during the afternoon at the park. - Coburg Leader 1908
