Brian Buckley - Far Right Top Row?
“On the day after his 21st birthday, Brian Buckley experienced a dream start to his VFL career when Carlton beat Collingwood by 13 points at Victoria Park in round 16, 1956. By then, Brian had already spent five seasons in navy blue, having begun with Carlton’s Under 19 squad (and played in their Premiership team) in 1951.” http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php?page=Brian+Buckley
John Benetti far left Middle Row
John Benetti DOB 17 June, 1937 – Turning 18 in 1955 so Cannot be much earlier than 1955.
“Unfortunately, after John played one Reserve game in 1955 he was called back to play for Parade (school rules) and was therefore not permitted to play any further Carlton games for that year. He did his apprenticeship in the Reserves during 1956 and 1957, playing some exciting football” - http://www.blueseum.org/tiki-index.php?page=John+Benetti

Comment
A Carlton (VFL) Second Eighteen photographed at home ground Princes Park early on match day, circa 1955. Brian Buckley (116 senior games 1956-65) is on extreme right of top row. Coach Albert ‘Mick’ Price is at the centre of the photo.(Note: Price is also the coach of other Carlton Seconds teams from the fifties photographed by Boyles - see for example Photo 21 versions 3, 7, 8, 10). Some of the other players appear in Photo 21 version 3 (H2008.122/155) and Photo 21 version 10 (H2008.122/127). Small number of spectators. Twenty players. Black shorts.
