The Carlton footballer is Ron Cooper, captured at Princes Park in the late-thirties/early forties. ‘Socks’ Cooper played 157 games for the Blues from 1932-42 (and two games for North Melbourne in 1943). Originally from Claremont-Cottesloe (West Australia) he played as a centreman and rover. The socks-down look was typical Cooper.
