ES FOTHEBGILL.—Only IB, but ln fourth year of senior play. Already ranked among the "truly great" players of the game. First appeared at Victoria Park in 1936 having run with the seconds. Born at Northcote, weighs list. 101b., height 5ft. lOin. Went to Preston S.S. and Collingwood Technical School. Captain of Victorian S.S. team in 1935. In cricket has already played ln Sheffield Shield games. Plays for Northcote and manages to fit ln swimming occasionally. Father also played for Northcote for several years. Des is a mechanic in the Shell Co., and unmarried. - Sporting Globe 19404
