Don Fraser (junior): 1945-52, 124 games, 125 goals. Played 1941-42 with Richmond Reserves prior to joining the Army. He was picked as CHF in his first senior game round #1, 1945, against Footscray. He scored a goal and was among Richmond's best players. He finished the season with 30 goals. He kicked a bag of 7 against Carlton in round #18, 1946. A strong high mark and a long kick, his accuracy in front of goal and his wayward temper is said to have caused Dyer to say: "ratbags to the back line!"

Thus a CHF became a CHB and a full-back. Nicknamed "Mopsy" because of his unruly hair, he would time and again draw the wrath of umpires. It is claimed that he served 84 week's suspension in his career. The records of the VFL/AFL show that he was outed for 16 weeks during his 8 seasons with Richmond; at Port Melbourne, he served 14 weeks in all while at Prahran he managed 21 weeks - being handed a 16-week suspension for misconduct and abusing an umpire on one report. After that, it appeared Tasmania beckoned in the form of the East Launceston club and he was there from 1957-59. What mischief he got up to in those last three seasons might bear closer scrutiny but it is a fact that his 12 reports in Victorian football amounted to 51 weeks' suspension.

Another episode often told about Fraser is how he took on the three Twomey brothers of Collingwood. True he tangled with all three but, it seems, not at the same time as the raconteurs would have us believe. . . . Climax came in the last quarter, when rugged Richmond centre half-back Don Fraser was involved in incidents with the three Twomey brothers.(from The Argus 7.7.1952 p9)

He crashed into Pat Twomey, who had to be taken off due to a badly bruised thigh, Fraser and Bill Twomey were reported for striking each other and both received 4 weeks' suspension.

Son of Don Fraser Sr (18 games). (from 'The Tigers of Old', AFL records, newspaper articles)
