HENRY CHASE, reputed to be the fastest and one of the most brilliant of Australian footballers died in a private hospital last night. aged 59.
The funeral will leave his home. Leithhead St. East Brunswick, for Coburg Cemetery at 3.30 on Monday.
Chase was an amazing centre. He played with Brunswick from 1901 to 1919 and manv times represented Victoria against South Australia. A fine mark and kick, his balance and pace with the ball was something to wonder at.
Off 12 yds. Chase won the Wren £500 professional footrace, which attraced
the best runners throughout Australia, including Jack Donaldson and Arthur Postle.
In the final he slipped as he left the holes and nearly fell, but recovered to run through tile field a brilliant winner. Sporting Globe 19451
