LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS OF 1950 - -WING HALF - FORWARDS By PERCY TAYLOR

Argus 8-Jul-1950 p12 The Argus Week-End Magazine

JACK JONES, the tall half-forward for Essendon, is a most valuable player, as he also excels when thrown into the ruck. Before the war he played for Ascotvale Y.C.W., but had many games in the Army. He just strolled into the Essendon room and offered his services when he returned from the Army. Showing outstanding form in the practice games in 1946, he quickly reached the senior side, and had played 86 games up to the end of last season.

Jack has the happy knack of finding the vacant spots during the game, and frequently marks unattended. He is a good mark and kick, - is fast, and is most versatile. In the butchering business, he is married and has one child.
