LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS OF 1950-WING MEN By PERCY TAYLOR

Argus 17-Jun-1950 P7

HAWTHORN'S most regular wing man. NEIL PEARSON, was discovered by the club's official scouts; when he was playing with Brighton Technical School Old Boys. He had his first senior game in 1945, and had completed 59 games at the end of last season.

Like so many others in the club he has not settled down to his best form this season, but that is regarded as only a passing phase. He is a first class player, with determination his greatest asset. His disposal is excellent, and he is a "play-on"~ artist, possessing great pace. Indeed, he is so quick off the mark that team mates are frequently not ready for his passes.

Living at the seaside Neil was attracted to yachting some years ago. He is a member of the Royal Brighton Yacht Club, and spends his summers in the bay. Employed in the Taxation Department, he is single, and lives with his people in Hampton street, North Brighton.
