LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS OF 1950 - WING MEN -Percy Taylor

Argus 10-Jun 1950 p7 Weekend Magazine

NOEL JARVIS has played some championship games for Fitzroy on the wing. He is a home- grown product, as he was playing with the Fitzroy Sub-District League when his prowess was brought under notice of senior officials.

He played for half the season of 1944 with the seconds, and finished the season with the seniors. His experience that year must be unique. as he played in the grand final in both teams, and both won.

He continued to shine on the wing, land in 1947 was chosen to represent Victoria in the Australian championship in Hobart. He has played in 110 games for the club.

Clever ball handling, and great Space, are the chief features of Noel's play on the wing, though he has not been at his best in the last year or so. Officials felt that his work as a taxi driver was not conducive to best form. Now he is doing an outdoor job with a rabbit dealer. Noel is married, with one child, and lives at North
