Essendon (VFL)

Essendon captured the 1923 and 1924 VFL Premierships partly due to a group of players nicknamed the 'Mosquito Fleet', all between 160 to 167 cm tall.

The players are:
Charlie Hardy
George Shorten
Jack Garden
Jimmy Sullivan
Vince Irwin
Frank Maher

The modern Essendon team mascot is called 'Skeeta' and is named after the fleet
