Comment

"Wal. Mutimer, the Fitzroy follower, an- nounced yesterday his retirement from football. Mutimer has played 27 games for Fitzroy since he transferred from Carlton in 1937. Mutimer was one of the most consistent players for Fitzroy lost year, and was often chosen as the best player for the side. Unless Fitzroy can find a younger player of the ability of Mutimer it may be weak in ruckwork this season. - Sporting Globe 2

1943 - Carlton Club - "Wally Mutimer, former Carlton and Fitzroy ruck man, began the season in a new role, taking over the position of official studder from Harold Vine" - Sporting Globe 3
