Notes
  • The Bunbury Club (in Perth) caused a wide local debate on the merits of women's football. The fact that the club raised significant funds for charity appears to have silenced many of the critics.
  • Kalgoorlie (WA) appears to have had a strong local competition well supported by the local newspaper.
  • 1921-22 Womens Football Banned in England by the men's Football Association limiting women's access to many football grounds
  • September 1921, 15,000 people watch a women's Rugby game at Sydney's Agricultural ground. This match was widely reported in Australian papers.
  • Women's Soccer was popular in the early 1920's with international matches played between France and England. The First international was played in 1920 to a crowd of around 25,000.1
