LEAGUE FOOTBALLERS OF 1950 -WING HALF-FORWARDS By PERCY TAYLOR

Argus 15-Jul-1950 P10

Jervis Stokes was playing in the last Australian Carnival at Hobart in 1947, when he was secured by Richmond. His brother, Ray, had preceded him. Their father is president of the Burnie club, and Jervis played for Tasmania when only 20. He is a left-footer, like his brother, a deadly shot for goal, and a most difficult opponent to tackle. He is an electrical mechanic, is married, with one child, and plays cricket in the off season.
