NB: ‘ECFC 1947’ on football.

Looks like a schoolboys team - with the masters in the back row. ‘EC’ possibly stands for a college. Not convinced about the ‘C’. It could be a ‘G’. Essendon Grammar? Just possibly Victorian country or Melbourne suburban. Bad emulsion damage. Some faces obscured.

Definitely a C not a G

Why would a College call their team a club?
It could be ECF College, or more likely EC Football Club
Maybe East something.....East Coburg? Possible Boyles' local youth team

Looking at team names in the Argus, 'East Coburg' does exist and the only "EC" team found.

For example:
BALLARAT TEAM TO MEET MELBOURNE ON MONDAY. (1944, June 8). The Argus (Melbourne, Vic. : 1848 - 1956), p. 9. Retrieved August 5, 2012, from http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article11818862
